State of Nonprofit Professional Development: March 2019

We’re excited to share the findings of our first-ever State of Nonprofit Professional Development survey.
NTEN and partner Cornerstone asked nonprofit staff in all departments and of all job types to share their experiences of the practices, culture, and investment in professional development at their organization.
The survey findings, which offer some surprises and confirm our experience, include:
- Three-quarters of respondents indicated access to professional development, and two-thirds of those had a personal budget of over $500.
- Only 40% of respondents indicated that organizational funding is available to everyone.
- More than half of respondents indicated that professional development is included in their review and planning process.
