Upstart Co-Lab has published The Community Reinvestment Act and the Creative Economy: Investing in Creative Places and Businesses as Part of Comprehensive Community Development with the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

This white paper proposes greater alignment between Community Reinvestment Act-motivated capital and the creative economy by highlighting the range of creative places and business activities which have already benefitted from CRA funding. 

We hope this research will:

• Bring more attention to these types of projects among community stakeholders
• Increase awareness of the potential CRA-eligibility of creative places and businesses
• Lead to more CRA-motivated investments in the creative economy
