This month’s virtual meetup focuses on an effort to create an inclusive business community and provide support to entrepreneurs who are in need of help.
First, Chris Horton explains the new Inclusivity Project, an effort to address institutional and systemic barriers to Black entrepreneurship by providing access to capital and mentorship to entrepreneurs with an emphasis on supporting the Black business economy. Chris brings the values of diversity and empowerment to his service as Lending Manager for the Northern California SBDC Finance Center and as the leader of the Inclusivity Project.
Second, we learn how SCORE – Los Angeles helped business owners through the unprecedented challenges from the pandemic from Laura Soloff-Geller, Chapter Chair of Score Los Angeles. Laura was President of a private college serving approximately 2500 students and former Director of HR at Sony Pictures Entertainment, among other experiences.
