New State Small Business Relief
On Monday, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced a new set of measures designed to aid small businesses impacted by COVID-19 and its related restrictions. CAMEO thanks the Governor and the Legislature for this unprecedented support for small business. These measures will tackle the ongoing challenges posed by the pandemic through three fronts:
- COVID Relief Grants. CalOSBA will administer $500 million in grants of up to $25,000 to underserved small businesses through CDFIs.
- California Rebuilding Fund. The Fund will receive an increase of $12.5 million, which will allow it to be fully capitalized and make even more low-interest loans.
- Tax Relief. There will be an automatic three-month income tax extension for taxpayers filing less than $1 million in sales tax, as well as additional measures for larger companies.
