Economic Development and Financing Corporation (EDFC) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that was formed by the cities and county of Mendocino County in 1995 to be the lead agency for economic development. EDFC provides a critical link between the public and private sectors acting not just as a lender but also as an organization with board representation from all areas of the county. EDFC works with businesses, industry partner organizations, other non-profit organizations, and local governments to support economic development in Mendocino County. EDFC provides professional economic development services to the local jurisdictions in Mendocino County to carry out research and economic analysis, and reporting on the local economy, as well as feasibility studies, economic surveys, strategy implementation, and partnership coordination. EDFC provides alternative financing opportunities for entrepreneurs in Mendocino and Lake Counties and economic development services to Mendocino County. In 2013 EDFC was certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).
