Alliance for Community Development
The Alliance for Community Development is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit dedicated to increasing access to capital and support for underrepresented entrepreneurs in the nine-county Bay Area region. We support Bay Area entrepreneurs and support providers primarily in three ways: Membership — In December 2017 we launched the Bay Area Entrepreneurship Alliance, a membership organization that makes business support resources and capital more accessible to local, diverse entrepreneurs, follows entrepreneur progress over time, and coordinates the rich ecosystem of business service providers, funders, and lenders in the Bay Area. Tools — We have three toolboxes available on our website: One is for entrepreneurs, one for people/organizations who provide them with business support, and one for people/organizations who provide them with financial support. Tools include free and low-cost navigation sessions, a resource database, navigator training, and a business stage wheel. Events — To increase collaboration and coordination in the robust Bay Area entrepreneurship ecosystem, we hold FOUR quarterly membership meetings and ONE annual Bay Area Capital Connections (BACC) conference. At our 2019, 11th Annual BACC conference, we will bring together entrepreneurs, business support providers and financial support providers from all ages, gender and cultural backgrounds to build our local ecosystem and cultivate deal-flow between partners.
