Jorge Ochoa, Leonora Goat Dairy

Originally posted in the Feed The Hunger Fund Stories.

Meet Jorge Ochoa, owner of a goat dairy farm called Leonora Goat Dairy. Jorge grew up in Mexico where his family has a rich history of working with animals on a farm. When he came to the United States, he wanted to carry on his family’s legacy and start a farm of his own. He heard about our services on the radio, and reached out to us to be a co-pilot in his new venture.

Our team at FTHF is determined and committed to facilitating the dreams of immigrants, women, and people of color in the food industry. We strive to meet our borrowers where they are, and give them the right tools to be successful. Even though Jorge’s first language is Spanish, it was not a barrier to his goals. Juan, our Fresno loan officer, worked one on one with Jorge, communicating through his native language, Spanish, every step of the way towards securing his loan.
