Today, we double down on our mission. We are unwavering in our commitment to the communities that you, our members, serve.
The administration’s efforts to roll back decades-old regulations preventing discrimination in government hiring, granting, and contracting is deeply concerning. This sweeping executive order is an attempt to take us back to a pre-Civil Rights era when opportunities for small businesses were doled out based on the color of the owner’s skin, not on merit.
If Black- and Latino-owned businesses were afforded the same opportunities as White-owned businesses, it would add an estimated $3.9 trillion to the economy. It’s up to us, with your help, to spread the message that celebrating diversity is a win-win for everyone.
Founded 30 years ago with the mission of serving the smallest of small businesses, especially BIPOC- and women-owned businesses, CAMEO Network’s mission remains unchanged. Increasing opportunities for under-resourced communities fuels our work, and we will continue to work alongside all of you to ensure that we have an economy that we all deserve.
We are currently analyzing the full ramifications of these executive actions and will continue to update our network on its effects on our work – as well as next steps to protect the communities we serve. We are unwavering in our efforts to build a small business economy that works for all.
CAMEO Network’s mission is to grow a thriving ecosystem of support for underserved entrepreneurs so that all entrepreneurs have access to the resources they need to succeed, creating family economic mobility and community prosperity.
