CAMEO Network Statement on Nominations of Treasury and the SBA

This week, president elect Trump  announced his nomination of  former Georgia Senator Kelly Loeffler to serve as Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). This follows his announcement of Scott Bessent to serve as Treasury Secretary.

These two agencies play a critical role in driving the economic growth of America’s small businesses, providing essential resources, funding, and programs that enable businesses—especially micro-businesses with fewer than five employees—to thrive. In California alone, these businesses help create or support more than 300,000 jobs annually and generate $15 billion in economic activity.

CAMEO Network is committed to serving as a resource to the US Treasury and the SBA, advancing our mission to foster micro-business development in California and beyond while cultivating a robust ecosystem of support for underserved entrepreneurs.

We encourage Ms. Loeffler to prioritize the SBA’s critical mission of supporting America’s 30 million small businesses and entrepreneurs, and Mr. Bessent to build on the successful small business ecosystem supported by Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institution program and State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI).

We welcome the opportunity to meet with Ms. Loeffler and Mr. Bessent to discuss the unique challenges faced by micro-businesses, share insights from California’s small business community, and explore opportunities for meaningful collaboration to empower entrepreneurs nationwide.
