The CAMEO Team Keeps Growing
CAMEO is excited to welcome Mark Herbert as our new Chief Operating Officer!
Before joining CAMEO, Mark served in several roles for Small Business Majority after working for both federal and state elected officials. He also served on CAMEO’s Board of Directors as part of the Executive Committee.
As COO of CAMEO, Mark will drive the implementation of organizational priorities and coordinate alignment across the organization.

SBA Updates Equity Initiative
On February 14, 2024 (just in time for Black History Month!), the SBA unveiled its updated Equity Action Plan, which outlines how the agency will reduce barriers and expand access to opportunities for underserved entrepreneurs.
The updated Equity Action Plan’s strategies will improve access to:
- Loan capital
- Federal government procurement and contracting opportunities
- Disaster assistance
- Business counseling, training, and services
- Investment capital
