Take Action: Support SB 33

SB 1235, passed in 2018, extended truth-in-lending disclosures to small business financing, allowing business borrowers to more easily evaluate the true cost of the money they borrow.

SB 33 will eliminate the 2024 sunset date for SB 1235 and guarantee transparency for businesses and certainty for providers that the required financing disclosure rules implemented in December 2022 will remain in place.

Please sign on to our letter of support for SB 33 and its commonsense protections for California businesses by March 21, 2023.

Tips and Resources after 3 Years of COVID-19

Three years ago, on March 13, 2020, the U.S. issued the COVID-19 Emergency Declaration. Since then, the number of remote workers has tripled, while COVID-19 deaths and mental health concerns have impacted the productivity of teams all across the country.

Health Action Alliance has compiled a list of tips and resources to guide employers’ COVID-19 response as we move towards the end of the national emergency on May 11, 2023.

2022 CDFI Fund Awards

Last year, the U.S. Department of Treasury awarded 27 California CDFIs nearly $11.5 million. The financial assistance awards of up to $1 million allow CDFIs to lend capital, loan loss reserves, capital reserves, financial services, and development services. The TA awards of up to $125,000 are used for capacity development to purchase equipment, hire consulting services, pay salaries, and train staff.
