CAMEO Network Files Amicus Brief in Support of Section 1071
CAMEO Network is proud to stand with the Responsible Business Lending Coalition, Allies for Community Business, and Scale Link in filing an amicus brief supporting a lawsuit that would mandate the immediate implementation of Section 1071 of the Dodd-Frank Act.
Section 1071 requires lenders to collect and report demographic data on small business lending—a critical step toward transparency, equity, and accountability in financial services.
Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and ensuring fair access to capital starts with better data.
Federal Policy Update: Small Business RELIEF Act
CAMEO Network applauds the introduction of the Small Business RELIEF Act, led by Senator Ed Markey. The bill would exempt small businesses from harmful tariffs and refund those already impacted.
Quoted in the press release, CEO Carolina Martinez emphasized the vulnerability of California’s microbusinesses, which make up 85% of firms statewide.
Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage MonthSeptember 15 to October 15 marks Hispanic Heritage Month. It’s an important time to remember that Latino entrepreneurs are a powerful economic engine in this country but face many challenges – from rising costs due to tariffs, to discrimination in small business lending, to the fear and uncertainty brought on by immigration crackdowns. Spread the word and share policy solutions for Latino entrepreneurs so they can reach their full potential and achieve the American Dream. |
