Join AEO’s Regional Council for the West Region
AEO’s Regional Councils will convene ecosystem stakeholders, including but not limited to lenders, technical assistance providers, entrepreneurs, and legislators, on a quarterly basis to develop a regional strategy aimed at finding pragmatic approaches to the challenges facing microbusinesses and service providers.
Carolina Martinez, CEO of CAMEO, and Ron Fong, Executive Director of the API Small Business Collaborative, are co-chairs of the West Region Council. The first Regional Council meeting will be held virtually on March 26, 2024 at 11:00am PT.
Support SB 1482 to Protect Business Borrowers
Over the last fifteen years, practices from the pre-crisis subprime mortgage market have become common in small business financing. SB 1482 (Glazer) plugs several holes in California’s legal framework that are allowing some brokers and financing companies to take advantage of small businesses. SB 1482 will establish a framework of transparency for brokers, put non-loan financing companies under the purview of DFPI, and close loopholes in price disclosure regulations.
SB 1482 will be heard in the Senate Banking Committee in April. Please sign our letter of support!
