Advocacy Day Priorities
One of our priorities for Advocacy Day at the CAMEO Network Summit is to make sure the state continues to invest in the ecosystem, including:
- $50 million to renew Cal IIP for CDFIs
- $26 million for TAP and CIP for business coaching organizations
- Small Business Recovery Fund (AB 265, Caloza)
- Los Angeles and Ventura Wildfire Small Business Recovery Act (AB 685, Solache)
- Enhancement Program renewal for the Women’s Business Centers (submitted by Senators Grove and Valladares)
National Small Business Week 2025
May 4-10 is National Small Business Week! Many of our members and partners in the small business ecosystem host special events to mark the occasion – from educational webinars to networking opportunities and award ceremonies – and we want to amplify them on the CAMEO Network Blog! Please email Sandra Flores to submit your upcoming events (even if they don’t take place exactly during the week of May 4).
For Your Clients: Webinar on Commercial Tenant Rights
CAMEO Network, Public Counsel and Small Business Majority are partnering again to host this “Know Your Rights” webinar on May 6, 2025 at 11:00am PT.
The webinar will focus on issues for small business owners to be aware of when leasing commercial space, and will provide information on SB 1103, the Commercial Tenant Protection Act. This new law provides tenant protections for small businesses and small nonprofits.
