Course I – HR Foundations: Structural and Legal Basics
Participants will:
- Possess a general level knowledge in the growing field of Human Resource Management
- Have the ability to review and apply the basics of employment law
- Have a working knowledge of core HR functions, compliance, and the role of key HR tools to include an employee handbook
Course II – HR Techniques: People-centered Culture
Participants will:
- Have working knowledge of performance management best practices and related tools
- Identify strong practices for recruitment, hiring, and compensation relevant to your organizational environment
- Have the ability to create or update an effective job description
- Have working knowledge of the basics of workplace culture and employee relations

Shannon Mick is a seasoned Human Resource, Culture, and Management Consultant with over 25 years of experience across both the private and public sectors. She holds an MBA in Executive Leadership and a BA in Human Resources, and is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). Shannon has worked with a diverse range of organizations—including Chase, DSW, RCAC, Tribal Governments, and healthcare systems—bringing deep expertise in HR operations, compliance, and organizational culture.
