Encouraging Micro-Business Resilience
As restrictions are lifted and businesses reopen, it’s time to reflect on what happened and consider how to prepare for the future. In 2020 and 2021, thousands of small business owners in the Inland Southern California region flocked to small business programs and microlenders for help. The Microenterprise Collaborative of Inland Southern California interviewed and surveyed small business counselors, trainers, and microlenders to better understand:
• what worked best to help these businesses in crisis, and
• where business development might adapt to help these businesses be more resilient for the future.
Join the Collaborative and CAMEO, the statewide network of mission-driven training programs and microlenders, as we examine what was learned from the research, share our experiences helping small business owners, and consider possible changes to the way we work with small businesses. After our presentation and breakout session, stay for informal networking and “happy hour.”
