Join Microlending Essentials on September 9-13, 2024 to gain the fundamental skills for consistent, quality microloan underwriting and loan packaging.

Don’t take our word for it! See what Victor from Access Plus Capital had to say:

“The course material was very helpful, class materials were excellent, and I was given a basic overview of underwriting principles and how to write a credit memo. I will use the template going forward when working with new businesses to explain the importance of financials and helping with business plans.”

Advocacy Works: Victory for L.A. Street Vendors

Earlier this month, street vendors and several nonprofits (including Inclusive Action for the City and Public Counsel, two of CAMEO Network’s advocacy partners) reached a settlement with the City of Los Angeles to repeal the City’s vending restrictions which were determined to have violated state law.

This groundbreaking victory is a direct result of years of organizing and advocacy as well as collaboration between micro business groups and community organizations. Congratulations to the plaintiffs and to all street vendors in Los Angeles, who now face one less obstacle to success and economic opportunity.

Take Action: Support SB 1103

As stated above, advocacy works!

CAMEO Network’s sponsored bill, SB 1103 (Menjivar – Commercial Tenant Protections) heads to the Assembly floor later this month. This bill will:

  • Expand language access for lease translation;
  • Provide transparency in maintenance fees when you lease a commercial space;
  • Require longer notice of rent increases or lease termination so small businesses and nonprofits can respond.
