California Policy Update
The California Legislature finalized the 2026–27 budget on Monday, but none of our advocated investments were included. We have one more shot; we’re working with our partners on alternative paths, like trailer bills, to secure funding for small business priorities.
In better news, AB 2116, which would give the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation oversight of non-loan financing providers, passed the Senate Banking Committee and heads to Senate Judiciary on June 30. Please sign our support letter!
In honor of Juneteenth, a spotlight on CAMEO Network in Texas
CAMEO Network’s Texas outreach is thriving under the leadership of our CDFI Programs team. This past year, Caleb Ostrander has strengthened CDFI training and ecosystem support across the state. From CDFI courses and coalition engagement to advocacy training and a strong presence at OFN’s SBFF, our impact continues to grow. Read our blog post to learn how these efforts support Texas’ small business communities.
